Emergency food for neighbors in need
Stratmoor Hills United Methodist Church operates a food pantry at 2027 B Street. In partnership with the city of Colorado Springs, Westside CARES, Care and Share of Colorado, and five other local churches, we provide weekly emergency food to neighbors in our geographic area. Military individuals and their families are eligible to receive assistance.
Changes in Operations due to COVID-19
The B-st food pantry has changed its hours of operation to just twice a month. Food will be distributed on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 1 to 3 PM. The food pantry will be closed on the 2nd and 4th weeks of each month. Donations may be taken to the food pantry on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month from 9-11 AM.
Churches who have food donations that need to be delivered while the pantry is closed, please contact Becky Ellefson at 719-651-5371 to coordinate a drop off time. Thank you for your support. May everyone remain healthy and safe during this difficult time.
Neighbors that need additional assistance should contact Westside CARES.
In the first three quarters of 2019, the pantry has served a total of 2,976 neighbors; which is the average of 78 neighbors per week. The pantry has received 10,558 pounds of food donations and logged 1,633 volunteer hours. If you would like to help with this ministry contact us. If you would like to donate funds to the food pantry, we have a designated fund to do so.
