Praying for Others

We pray for others.

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ”. Galations 6:2

Our ministerial staff prays for every prayer request we receive. Additionally, your prayer request, if you so desire, will be prayed for by members of SHUMC’s prayer chain or by the entire congregation during worship service. Those prayer requests identified as confidential are not shared beyond the ministerial staff. Prayer cards are available in the pews and may be dropped in the offering plate during Sunday worship. A quick and easy option is to complete the Prayer Request form below. Contact us if would like to join SHUMC’s prayer chain. If you are looking for the prayer requests which are prayed over during our Sunday Service, please visit SHUMC’s web page News & Notes.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Made with Love and Prayers

Women praying over prayer shawls

Beautiful hand-knitted and hand-chrocheted shawls are given to those in need of comfort and hope in their lives. We gift prayer shawls to people of all ages, from young children to residents living in nursing homes. Prayers are said over the shawls as they are being made, and when finished the shawls are blessed. To be a part of this ministry, or if you have yarn to donate, please let us know.
